Chilling in Copacabana

This time next week I will be back in the UK. I'm ready. I've done and seen everything that I want to do and see. The scab has finally come off my head..well I guess it was quite a big bang! Big Bang I can't wait to watch that again! In fact I can't wait to sit and watch a good film, not in Spanish! I guess that'll be on the plane home. I'm going to watch 5. Back to back!

I have decided to climb the hill today. I feel like an invalid having to stop and rest after each flight of stairs but I reckon I have all day. I can walk 10 steps then sit and read a chapter of my book and continue that way. But there's no way I can sit here looking at a big hill, overlooking the beautiful lake Titicaca and NOT climb up it. It's what I do! If I take enough supplies, maybe I can even watch the sunset!

There is no wifi since the storm the other night. I have so many blogs to put on. Apart from the floating Islands one though, they're going to be pretty boring cos I'm not doing anything now!

It was too hot in the morning to do anything let alone climb a hill so I decided I would wait till after 3, and just sunbathed reading my book all day instead! I am on the top floor and the only other room is unoccupied so I have the whole terrace bit to myself. Bliss.

I spoke too soon! David arrived and stole my privacy! He's English, about 57 and travelling alone. I helped him speak to the owners cos he speaks less Spanish than I do! I think he's an alcoholic. He had the shakes real bad.

After discovering the wifi was back on and adding about 6 days of blogs, David and I went out for a drink. We had a really nice couple of hours but it's the same old story, after I ran out of things to ask him about his travels etc, there was silence. I watched as he stared into space willing him to ask something about me. He's old school ffs! Oh well, I made my excuses and left. To his credit he did offer to walk me home before he continued drinking, but I politely declined.

Wow! I just said , all in Spanish, Is it possible I stay 2 more nights please? Saturday and Sunday? I will leave on Monday. After he replied in the affirmative I had no idea what he said but at least he understood me! Wow I'm almost fluent!!
