Post Office Saga
After finding out where the post office is I headed over there only to be told they don't take parcels and only sell stamps! I need to go to La Paz or Puno! Think Pauline think! The girls I met yesterday said they were getting the bus to La Paz at 1pm today, maybe I could ask them very nicely? They weren't at the hostel when I got back from the post office but I knew they had left their bags to go off wandering so they would be back at some point. Stakeout! I sat on the beach (yes this hostel is actually ON the beach - I say beach, it's a lake I know but it's huge so it seems like a beach) and waited, watching the hostel for 2 hours. They eventually came back and I pounced on them! I know you don't know me at all I said, but please please pleeeaaasse take this parcel and post it in La Paz. I showed them what was inside so they knew it wasn't drugs and gave them way too much money in the hope they would actually post it for me. How could they refuse? Phew, that's that sorted!
I wanted to climb one of the two huge hills on either side of the hostel but as I almost expire each time I climb the 3 flights of stairs up to my room I'm thinking I might have to leave it. So I spent the rest of the day sunbathing (the storm last night did a brilliant job cos it's sunny for the first time in days!) and wandering around. I took a long walk along the beach and then it got dark and I got scared again cos I realised I was completely alone. In the dark. So I actually ran. Ok jogged very slowly. Nearly killed me.
Oh I've discovered I have a camera! On this chromebook! It's a bit crap tho cos it's meant for just taking selfies with the web cam but it's good enough for emergencies!
It's really weird here. Gorgeous sunny day all day, then it clouded over and there was another storm around 6ish again. Not anywhere near as bad as last night though thank the Lord!
Early night.
