Fruit in Atlanta
Flight to Atlanta.
The traumatic toilet experience is now in the past. The toilet on the plane was an absolute delight! Clean, a seat, toilet paper, soap, HOT water, AND paper towels! Oh how I've missed normality!
Fruitgate!
I saved my fruit and bread roll from breakfast on the plane to eat later. (A habit I have been doing now for a few weeks to save the pennies). When filling out my declaration I asked the flight attendant re the fruit. I thought as I had been given it on the plane it would be exempt. She said I'd better declare it. Off the plane I went through a "fast track" immigration kiosk. I was walking towards the exit but as I'd ticked "something to declare" I was guided back to another queue to talk to an immigration officer. At this point I was really miffed with the flight attendant. If I knew if was going to be this much effort I would have left the damn fruit! My bags were fully searched for more offending products before finally being allowed to pass through. The only reason I was being allowed to keep my fruit was as I had a connecting flight!
It's 10am I have to wait here till my flight at 545.
I killed time getting the shuttle bus to various parts of the airport and then by the time Virgin opened at 2pm and I got through security (3pm) I only had an hour and a half to wander about the good part until boarding (430pm).
Omg I feel positively skinny here! People are so HUGE! If I lived here I'd get bigger and bigger cos I'd think it was acceptable!
