Eurolines bus and we found a kfc in madrid

I got woke up at 1am to the driver gibbering something over the mic, turned out we were at the border , we got our passports out how the hell we looked like the pictures on there at 1am with less than 2 hours of sleep i dont know but we got through with no problems.

After that i struggled to get back to sleep i must of been asleep for at the most 3 hours that night. We arrived at the bus depot at 8am. We bought tickets for our barcelona bus later next week and went on the metro to what we thought was the metro near our hotel. Turns out it wasnt. I asked a guy donde esta and pointed to the address the guy didnt speak english but pointed to the map where we needed to be. Good job id paid a bit of attention in my spanish classes at school. We jumped back on the metro and found our hotel. It was a bit crap looking outside but inside we could see why it was a 4* hotel. The room was quite large and so was the bathroom. We had to wait to check in so wander to the supermacardo for some breakfast. Once we had checked in copey had a siesta i washed my clothes grabbed a shower . We then hit the centre of madrid, there must of been a demo on of some sort police had closed the roads off and people where handing out leaflets of some sort.

We found kfc! In all of france we hadnt seen one at all so we immediatly went there. I ordered tres peizos de pollo maxi, the coke came out the size of a large at the pictures back in the uk. At this point i was getting knackered. We wandered to the palace it was quite big and you can go in, we didnt bother it was raining and the queue was large so went into the cathedral next door. I didnt like this place, it seemed they had sold out to the tourist trap and were just after your money. They had lights wired upto donation machines so if u wanted to view the artwork or statues it was going to cost you a euro. Wrong in my opinion, ill donate at the end a few euros, not be pestered everywhere for a euro to light an electric candle. We left and went for a beer, cope ordered and we ended up with 2 beers and 2 cakes of some sort i was busting from kfc so didnt eat it, copey tried but it was 'wierd'. We paid up €3 a beer a lot cheaper than france considering we got cake too, even though i didnt eat it.

We got the metro back and we stopped at the supermacado again for breakfast the next day and i bought a bottle of my favourite wine, campo viejo for €4.50 well cheap considering tesco sell it for £7 upwards. Our idea was to have a siesta and go out after 9 for a beer. Turns out i slept through all the way to 9 the next morning not the 9 i had in mind but must of needed the sleep!
