Hi All

Well its a long way off yet but this will be my online journal for when i leave the UK in April 2010!

So i've decided to go round the world with a friend, you may ask what's the purpose of this trip? To give up work, to find a new girlfriend or dare I say wife? No, it's very simple to explore the world and see and try new things. Although mum if your reading this, make sure you get the room ready on my return for my Thai bride :P

So how are we going to get round the world? Well most people look at round the world tickets, which basically last a year and allow you to fly in one direction for a set fee. We decided to do it on the go and over land and sea, basically no flying unless absolutley necessary, in the words of "Max and Paddy",

"Don't know where were going, got no way of knowing, riding on the road to nowhere!"

This moto sums up our plans for travelling, hit Europe and travel eastwards around the world in anyway possible trying to take in as many countries and do as many things as we can. There's no time limit on this trip its just until the funds run low, but hopefully I should have enough to last 18 months on the road staying in hostels, sleeping on trains, boats and buses. The start date for our trip was originally June 2010 but after reading up on places and things to do you soon get the urge to leave straight away. So we both decided on early April 2010, i had a crazy notion to go in January, but then realised January in france is not the warmest of places.

I've got a list of places i want to go and activities i want to do and i will post them on a blog nearer the time as im still researching them.

I'll try to update this as much as i can but there maybe times when i have no internet connection or am just too hungover. So please bare with me if theres no update for a while.

Well hope you all take the time to follow me on my trip through here, please use this website instead of facebook as it'll give me encourgement to update it.

Ian Crompton Paul, I never heard about her but i'm glad for you, that will be one home comfort worth waiting for, oh and mums cooking obviously but I'm glad your enjoying it. Mate i'm still gutted I had to leave early that day but when the day does come that you are back we'll hit Bar 52, £1.50 a pint of Fosters..... Magic. Mind you, with Camerons government it'll be £4 when you return lol. Politics is another issue though, and one you wont have to worry about for a while yet. I'm enjoying the read and as your friend said, the spelling errors are a joy haha. No chance of me going anywhere, Sophie cant get the time off work, its really frustrating. If we do it'll have to be a 5 day trip.. I'm after a big break. Peace and Love bruvva, stay safe homes. Ian... Mwah, <3 haha.
