The vatican museum and the flatest pint of fosters ever!
I woke up and wanted to get a shower, i couldnt find a free one. Guess thats the downside to shared bathrooms, i thought one was free and headed to it when i opened the door there was a girl there who said scuzi then i said sorry and walked back, her fella then walked in after me and locked the door. After 10 minutes i found a free bathroom i headed to it quickly, the shared bathrooms where actually ok when u got one.
I made lunch and we headed to the metro at termini station. This place was massive and busy too, i can tell why the roads are manic as there is only 2 lines on the metro. There was a guard here martialling the yellow line, he must of been roasting in his full outfit. We hit the tram stop near the vatican when we got off we got massivley pestered to do a tour for €45 and would skip the 3.5 hr queue. We decided to brave the queue, it took us 50 mins max to queue up and this was at 13pm. I ate my lunch in the queue then copey decided to make his in the queue, I was expecting a james wallace style fold over sandwich but copey refused to make one.
Inside the vatican musuem were old paintings of christ and mary etc... We had to get passed the tours as people just stood blocking the way. One group especially as the tour guide was frantically moving them around. We went into the sistine chapel to see the painted ceilings, the guards here were fighting a loosing battle telling people not to take photos but everyone was, even me.
We left the vatican and walked ages around rome, we found loads of churches called san maria. God they love mary here! By this time my right foot was starting to ache, i didnt know what it was but it was getting worse, so we headed back to the hotel.
After we rested for a bit we went to a restaurant for tea, we both decided to get 1/2 ltr of wine as it was the cheapest. We then bought tickets to florence for wednesday when we left. I wanted to go to pompei so looked at a day trip for tuesday. The fares where very expensive for quick trains and the slow ones took ages. So i said sod it, its another trip to do another time and we should rent scooters instead. After all the museums a little adreneline is needed!
We then wandered to a find a bar, nowhere was busy apart from an irish bar, we ordered 2 pints of fosters which were flat. €11 for two flat beers? Copeys round next so he bought some local bottled beer instead, god knows what it was but it was okay. The only thing the place had was a picture of whem russell crowe went there? We were getting hungry at this point and hit istanbul kebab where we ate yesterday, it was shut, so we wandering into a dodgy kebap store, the kebab was cold and we both think the trotts will be coming soon....
