Ok, so I guess it's about time I did one of these. Plus Paul's sitting on the couch next to me watching the Bahrain Grand Prix and I'm bored.
So we arrived in San Sebastian (a coastal town in northern Spain) yesterday afternoon and are staying in a very awesome hostel (we were going to stay in and have a quiet night last night but we were convinced otherwise, plus it was a saturday night!). I think we're going to make punch tonight! The weather here is pretty average but hopefully it'll pick up tomorrow. Once the grand prix finishes we're planning on going for a walk up the hills on either side of the town to check out the views and the giant statue.
So anyway, the previous 4 nights were spent in Madrid. While we were there we visited the Thyssen-Bournemisza Museum which is a huge art gallery, so we got our dose of culture. We also visited the statue of the fallen angel (aka satan) in the pouring rain, took ourselves on a walking tour of the historic part of the city (full of convents, churches and monastries). We managed to stumble across a huge street party for the Real Madrid Basketball team (we later realised that they'd won the European club championship), anyway we got into the spirit and cheered them on. And we checked out the nightlife with Michael, who we met in Lagos, he took us out for a fun filled night!
Anyway the grand prix has finished now, so we're off to explore some more!
