Up and at it bright and early this morning to get our bus at 7:30 to bring us to Halong Bay. We had a 4hour bus journey and then we got on an old boat which sailed through Halong Bay for 4hours. The views here are absolutely stunning and the Vietnamese food on the boat was fab. In any boat trip the drinking games began which made the trip a little more entertaining.

When we arrived at Castaway island there were already a crew of people who had stayed there the previous night, so they had choreographed a little welcoming ceremony for us. They took this part very seriously and there was an assault course to make your way to the castaway shack. I thought the food on the bus was fab but that was nothing compared to the buffet that was put up for us on the island. I also noticed that there seems to be only men cooks here which seemed a little odd.

We then spent the night meeting new people and playing drinking games. This doesn't go without its dramas but that's part of the booze cruise esk experiences.

We slept in a hut which had 12 people in it but it really was amazing wakening up to the sound of the water on the beach. We all had breakfast looking out on to the beach and then got back on the boat to enjoy the views for another four hours and then our bus journey back to Hanoi.

After that we landed at the hostel grabbed our bags to make our way to the first overnight bus at 6:30. I'm that wrecked I'd imagine getting some sleep won't be a problem.

We should reach Dong Hoi by 4ish and then it'll be time for a little relaxation. Fingers crossed!!
