Got our transfer from the pier to the resort. On first look in the dark its amazing and you could smell the sea because it was on the beach. We were shown our rooms with its sand tracks towards them. We got showered and made our way along the beach looking for a restaurant. This place is class and the atmosphere so extremely laid back. You don't have to go near the street if you don't want to. There are any number of restaurants and pubs to keep you going forever and who doesn't want to socialise on the beach at night.
There were fire throwers in loads of different pubs and we settled in one with the loudest music and they had a massive skipping rope on fire and randomers were taking turns to skip. I didn't try it because I thought they were fecking nuts but somehow if it hit them it didn't seem to burn them. In saying that I wasn't going to try it.
The next day, Valentine's Day we lay by the beach for the majority of the day. Oh boy it's hot here!! The sea was beautiful and you could walk out so far before it got deep which will brill for the likes of me that wouldn't do all that much swimming. The three girls all got scalded but I had continuously said about everyone wearing a higher factor because the sun here is so different but of course I was ignored. I now have three lobster travel buddies who glow in the dark. Touch wood I've been very lucky and have been careful not to get sun burnt. I'm not a darker shade of white which isn't bad ;)
We ventured off the beach for some food and then discovered a cabaret show with what I'm assuming was a mix of ladies and lady boys. I couldn't be sure about which some of them were and perhaps they were all lady boys but if they were I'd like a figure like that and to be able to dance like some of them! Wowza!!!
We're leaving Koh Tao today (its Friday) and have our ferry booked for 3pm. My plan was to use the morning to get my tan on but unfortunately they skies had something else in mind. The heavens opened up at 10:30am and lashed until 3pm when we were getting onto our boat. The weather forecast isn't looking spectacular for Ko Phangan for the next three days but fingers crossed if its going to rain that it'll happen at night except Saturday night because we've got the half moon party. That not asking for much, Right?
The boat to Ko Phangan is only 1hr and 20mins and the journey is coming to an end and so far there doesn't appear to be any sick people and Claire is only a glowing red colour and not the green/white sick ish colour she was the other night.
Roll on three nights in Ko Phangan!
