We got our Vietnam visa today which consisted of two trips to the embassy and we've booked our flights to get to Hanoi on Sunday. :) Really looking forward to Vietnam!
Chilled out in between trips to the embassy and I must say it was a little weird lying around a pool in the middle of Bangkok. The heat 30+ is gorgeous!!
We decided it was time to get out of the hotel and have a night out in the all famous Koah San road. We travelled there in a tuk tuk and to say that this was different would be an understatement. It's basically a motorbike with a carry on the back for what probably should be 2-3 people but it appears that anything goes. (The little person being me is left on a hard steel ledge... sore bum over those bumps in the road) It probably is the best means of air con although they drive like maniacs.
Koah San road was great craic and we even had our first food from an on street food stand. It was yummy!! After that we found a pub and stayed there for the night/morning. It was 12am and all of a sudden it really was the little, little hours of the morning!
Woke up the next day with a very, very sore head! Those Chang and mojitos were a little too nice. ;) The girls went exploring around the city for a little while and a tuk tuk driver had different ideas. He decided that they needed to do a spot of shopping in a very dodgy area of town. The girls were scared shirtless which of course I thought was hilarious when they arrived back and told me the story. I had read that this is a common thing but the girls hadn't a clue and thought they were being kidnapped.
To get over their 'near death experience' we went back to Koah San road enjoyed more gorgeous food and treated ourselves to a fab Thai massage. I didn't think that my body bent the way this man had me but it did feel good afterwards.
Making a move very early in the morning to Hanoi, Vietnam so early enough to bed.
