On this lovely Sunday morning, about eight or nine of the members in our group came out to UCF to participate in some fun activities! Originally, we thought we were going to do the obstacle course in the background of the picture I posted, but we did some other exercises instead. As the trip approaches, it is very important for all the members to get to know each other and to learn to work together.
Since we are all traveling abroad to a foreign country, the way we communicate with the locals and with our group members is a fundamental priority. For example, some of the people in our group don't know spanish very well, so it would be ideal for those who DO know spanish to help translate. Also, it's very important to know and remember everyone's name. There are eighteen of us in my group, we are all girls hahaha!!! Except Nate, who is the only guy and also a grad student. #TeamNate

I actually had a lot of fun participating in this social event. When we got there, the main group leaders brought us donuts and we filled out some paper work about the activities we were to do. The event lasted the whole morning until noon. We worked on several activities that helped us to get to know each other better, trust eachother, literally work as a team, and communicate effectively.
I had two favorite activities. In the first one, they made us write one main goal that we had towards the trip. Then, we all got in a circle and by helping one another, we had to reach for the goal (piece of paper) without getting out of the circle. It was complicated at first but we got the hang of it and we actually did really good.
My second favorite activity was reflecting on the day with my other team members. We spoke about the things we did right and the things we should work on. Also, we spoke about more possible social events and trying to get everyone to come out and participate. I sincerely love everyone in my group with whom I've worked so far. This trip is going to be epic!
