Having arrived at the slopes, we seem to be hitting speed bumps at every turn, or better yet 'moguls'. Jess' shoes are a size too small and keep cutting off her circulation, suraj's binding are too loose and we've decided to take the chairlift to the very top of the mountain... we're not getting anywhere and so it was time to go find assistance. Myself and nomes made it to the end of the slope and then single handedly butchered the spanish language in true tourist fashion. AS level Spanish didn't really cover winter sport vocabulary you see. The best I could come up with was ' la talle de las botas no es correcto.'
The ski marshal managed to find Suraj and then the 'spanish' continued with Jess saying: " las botas estan pequeños" and with Suraj saying: "Er yeah, my boots are loose". He seemed to understand and after a quick fiddle with the skis, the crisis was over! Lol.
The rest of the day was spent conquering the Andes. The chair lift rides were particularly interesting, when Nomes usually shared his pearls of wisdom such as ' imagine if you were a rock, it would be so boring, u just sit there...' and after glancing at some kids daringly skiing offpiste 'they've probably been told they have cancer so theyre like 'f*** it, were gonna die eventually'. Yes nomes, indeed.
Jess also expressed her dissatisfaction for button lifts, after falling off one and practically arse flashing a family of 6. The visibility during the day wasn't great but hey who cares considering where we are! Let's hope for some sun tomorrow!
In the evening, we decided to go into town which was surprisingly lively. We sat at a traditional argentinian restaurant where we enjoyed steak! (yay!) and some Patagonian wine named 'el fin del mundo'. Perfect end to a great day.
