Awoke to fireworks at 3.30AM Not sure what they were for but it was fairly close to our hotel. Then at about 6.30am we could hear a P.A. system going. Looking out the window we were surprised to see a few hundred hardy souls doing exercise classes on the lawn in the hotel grounds. Lisa tried to imitate what they were doing until she felt tired and then they said that it was just the warmup! After breakfast we caught a taxi into central KL and Chris and I went looking at Tech. shops and Sue and Lisa went to (you guessed it) clothes shops. The city is filled with huge video screens. The malls are amazing, absolutely huge and very modern. Shiney marble floors are everywhere and more phones, cameras and i thingys than you could imagine. I didn't buy anything and Chris got some GoPro bits and pieces, some bluetooth speakers and a Kindle case. Had a spot of bother finding the girls again and we thought we were in the correct location for the shuttle bus back to the 'Palace' but it turned out that even with GPS equiped ipad and my uncanny sense of direction we couldn't find them. Just as we were about to give up and the cost of the phone calls were starting to exceed the cost of a taxi back anyway we spotted them. They had just left but we were lucky and managed to jump in while only causing a minor duspruption to lunchtime traffic. Had a nice swim as we were dripping wet after 15 mins of scampering about in the sun. The pool is about 35degC and is almost a bit too warm. There is a little waterslide which is probably mainly for kids but we used it anyway. For dinner we cabbed into KL Central and planned to go to a Tappas bar that a friend had recommended. Unfortunately it was closed but the street was full of restaurants all trying to lure us in with offers of 'Happy Hour' etc. Eventually settled on one and had a lovely meal out on the footpath in the 29 deg heat.
