Sue and Chris thought they would spend the day by the pool so we thought we'd go to the Batu Caves. As the caves are near the Batu Caves train station I thought it would be 'fun' to try and get there by train so we cabbed to the nearest train station and headed off. We changed trains at KL Sentral and got to the caves a while later. The 272 steps to the cave entrance was a breeze and we were in in no time. (cough cough) The cave is huge and features a temple or two (Hindu) and some market stalls. The floor is concrete and definately not a wilderness experience. However, just near this cave is another called the 'Dark Cave' We went through this with a group and although a bit light on for Stalagtites etc. was very interesting. No fancy lighting, just an led torch to carry. As we left there was a shaft of light coming down through a hole in the ceiling which looked fantastic. Back on the train to KL Sentral for lunch and then to the station near our hotel followed by a Formula One trained taxi driver for the ride back to the 'Palace'. Princess Lisa is now having a lie down. (To get the arenaline out of her system) For dinner we caught the small boat accross the lake to the Mine Resort and had a lovely meal overlooking the lake. Got the 9.30 boat back to the 'Palace'
