Arose at some ridiculously early hour in order to beat the morning traffic. We had decided to go to Philip Island today, a place I hadn't visited since I was about 14. Took a couple of hours to get to San Remo then accross the bridge to the island. We went to various lookouts and beaches on the southern side of the island incl. Cape Woolamai, Smiths Beach and Pyramid Rock before driving to The Nobbies, a series of rocky outcrops and islands on the western tip of the island. There was also a big Visitors Center/Antarctic Journey attraction which we didn't visit. The walk to the blowhole was nice and the blowhole spectacular! Returned via the north side of the island, lunch at Cowes, then on to Rhyll, Newhaven then back to Melbourne. While collecting some supplies at the local supermarket near our caravan park, the locatl SWAT squad decended on a couple of people in the car park and had them on the ground, blue and white striped tape placed accross the entrance preventing us from leaving, a helicopter flying overhead. Very exciting! Got out eventually and to dinner with Lisa's cousin Tina.
