Hi Everyone

We have arrived in Christchurch at last. The weather is beautiful 29C + so far. We have another trusty (we hope!) campervan, much older than our other one. We are a bit apprehensive of the mountains, prob will have to keep pulling over to let the queue pass! We spent a great day in the city yesterday. We went up the mountains in the gondolier sky rail and had the most fantastic views over blue lakes and green vegetation. Then we did a tour of the city on the tram and after a lot of walking around to get our exercise, we enjoyed a lazy punt up the river Avon, which was so relaxing! it is the buskers festival w/e here, so there are a lot of fun things going on. We joined the buskers outdoor comedy festival last night , which was very popular. Unfortunately, it was so full that the acts lost their impact as we couldn't see the stage very well! Christchurch is a lovely city and we are really enjoying our few days here but must move on tomorrow to Mount Cook. Apparently, there are lots of nasty sand flies and rain on the west coast, so we are not looking forward to that! Still, we must see as much as we can. It is so exciting to be on the road again!
