Hi Everyone
We began our trip on Friday in earnest or should we say "Sam the van" Melbourne to Adelaide 800km. Early start 6am as we were too excited to sleep. Lunch stop interesting in rest area. Two lateral thinking women tried to plug in electric kettle and microwave for our coffee fix. Turning switches on/off, checking circuit trip, trying main switch , cursing "cheapacamper' only to realise Pam wasn't peddling fast enough on the generator that we weren't actually plugged into! Nobody told us we needed a caravan park. Managed coffee on the gas hob so all was not lost!? Booked into the Adelaide beach resort , very luxurious with tennis, golf, theatre lookalike tv room.? Pity we could only manage spag bol, several glasses of vino and early bed!!? After this luxury we can only afford nights under the stars!!
The drive was fantastic - changing scenery all the time, parched fields and hills but greener as we got towards Adelaide. You will be surprised that Jan managed to stay awake some of the time to drive her share!
Yesterday, we enjoyed fresh air and exercise after the long haul. We walked on board walk around beautiful Hallet's cove, admiring incredible rock formations 280million yrs old. Weather beautiful as Jan the "rain queen" has not worked her spells so far.
Today, we have looked round Adelaide city and taken the local bus to Hahndorf, a german village in the hills.
tomorrow , we leave for ??
