Day 15

Karratha to Exmouth

Karratha Big 4 was very overpriced. Bit of a boom town - growing fast with all the workers from the nearby mines & gas fields.

Quick visit to Dampier - another mining town & pretty depressing. Supports the off-shore gas fields, ire ore and salt mining.
Very 'worked-over' country side. Seeing water in the river channels now.

Exmouth is great seaside spot but growing fast into a resort town. Hosts a large navy communications centre with towering radio masts...got a funny look from the security guard when we parked too long outside.
White sands and tourquoise waters.

Went into Cape Range National Park......bloody wallabies and kangaroos for Africa! Now we know where they've all been hiding!
Had a close encounter with a group of roos and got some posing photos with ones on the roadside.

Went looking for turtles but only found the tracks of a couple who had come ashore to lay their eggs.

Big 4 here was really nice and thoroughly recommend a visit here....a bit undiscovered still.
