On Saturday we found ourselves pretty useless, we went into town, planning to get money out from the bank (we don't have PIN numbers yet so ATMs are a no no) and post our parcels to England. Only to remember, that the bank and post office are shut all weekends. We bought chocolate to stop the morning being a complete waste. To top it off, bus stop which we usually use to get home wasn't being stopped at as the road ahead was shut!! Not our day...
In the evening we went out with Ellen (Amy's cousin) and her friends for Chuey (Michael Chu)'s 19th birthday drinks. Whilst waiting to meet Ellen at the station's exit, a probably drunk man approached us and told us we looked spectacular. He must have known we were wary of him because he proceeded to tell us that he wasn't creepy (accopmanied by him impression or creepiness which was much like that of an octopus) and he wasn't gonna touch us. He asked if we wanted him to keep us company and look after us from scary people. We told him we were sure the station guards could do this.
We met up with Ellen's friends who were mainly guys, very drunk guys, because they had started their pub crawl at 5 o'clock, we arrived at the 'Belgian Beer Bottle' (?) at 9. The last bus home was at 11 o'clock, we had moved on to 'Carnegies' by then and were having too much fun. Ellen's boyfriend suggested we take a train to Canning highway and then a taxi home. We agreed!!! So we stayed on and had loads of fun, Mary-Ann was persued by 'goat guy' which was mostly him putting on a cockney accent and saying "I'm Mary-Ann!!" 2 of the guys, Gareth and David, offered to intercept his efforts so we stayed with them for a while until he seemed to lose himself somewhere in the club. We danced the night away, everyone had a great time, especially Chuey and Adrian, who pretty much came out of the closet ;)
We waited for about a half hour at 1 for the train, our feet were absolutely killing us!!!! At the other end we phoned for a taxi and they said they didn't pick up from the station, so we had to ask 3 guys who were there for directions to the Raffles Hotel. 2 of them pointe dus in the right direction (the third was peeing, much to our amusement and their embarassment, in the direction of the hotel, which was very funny.) The taxi was only $15 from Canning highway - bargain!
Sunday we spent chasing the bus into town, and in King's Park making our plans for this week. We will be staying in Fremantle for the next two (at least) nights so contact will be difficult and we may not be able to blog for a while. Here is the address of the backpacker's hostel: www. sundancer-resort.com.au and we will be on our mobiles.
Be in touch soon, loads of love,
US!
