We got up early again and had our last 5 star breakfast. We then went put our stuff in the storage behind reception to go for a walk around town to get some souvenirs, I fell in love with an amazing cuckoo clock but it was ridiculously priced so I have to think about how much I want it and maybe if we have time at the end we'll go back and get it lol. We went and got our stuff and took the short walk to the train to start our journey to Salzburg. We arrived in Salzburg around 2pm and found our way to information to get directions on how to get to our accommodation which was at the original Von Trapp house located just outside of the city. We got to the train stop in only 10 minutes but walked for miles in the wrong direction, we both get very frustrated and cranky when we don't know where we are going and it's cold and getting dark. We caught a bus back to the train station where we started to try and work out where we went wrong and Trent realised his GPS on his phone was working so we were able to find our way there. It was just behind the station not far at all thank goodness as it was awfully bloody cold. We were warmly greeted by the manager of the home and shown around the premises, it was so exciting seeing the photos and feeling the love and warmth left over from the Trapp family. We stayed in Maria's room, it was Maria that locked the house when the family fled and it was Maria that re-opened the home when it was made into the b&b. It is such a beautiful home with an amazing park like yard surrounding it. I spoke to the manager and arranged to do a Sound of Music tour for the next day which he informed me we had to pay cash for which of all times on our trip I had run out of and hadn't had a chance to top up so we had to catch the train back into the city to get the cash out and unfortunately being Sunday everything is shut (Europe is very backwards in relation to Sunday trading). Was a bit of a nightmare finding an ATM and when we did finally find one it was out of order arrrggghh thought for a moment we were going to have to cancel the tour but luckily Trent had a good eye and found an ATM machine back at the station thank goodness. We then went to the only grocery store open to buy a bite for dinner and headed back to the hotel for dinner in bed and then sleep. Big day tomorrow.
