Arrived in Ubon after a pretty long trip starting in Don Dhet, Laos - Pakse, Laos - crossing the border and in to Ubon. We shared this trip with an Israeli girl who had just finished her 2 year compulsory army service, a Turk and a retired American. The American annoyed the hell out of us, he insisted on documenting the whole of our trip including us in all of his pictures!
After arriving in Thailand once again we soon missed the laid back life style of Laos. As soon as we stepped off the bus we had people shouting 'Falang'(foreigner) at us, and scams being thrown at us left right and centre!
Fortunately just using it as a stop gap before we head south east to Ko Chang. No hostels or guest houses here only crazily expensive hotels- though was nice to have one night of luxury we've certainly missed a real toilet, hot water and a soft bed!
