We have arrived in Hong Kong, and we absolutely love it! Our 8 hour bus ride from Yangshuo to Shenzhen was pretty okay and we had managed to grab a taxi from here on to the subway to Hong Kong with some fellow westerners we had met on the bus.
Our hostel was nice ish and we were sharing with just one other traveller - a girl from Brazil. Everywhere you look here you are surrounded by huge skyscrapers with business men and women hurrying around you everywhere. We wasted no time and headed for Victoria Harbour catching the Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island. The views on our short ride across were absolutely brilliant, what a sky line, wow! Apparently it's even more dramatic from Victoria Peak, so that's where we headed next! We took the historic Peak Tram up and enjoyed the most amazing views of the city from above, we stayed and watched sunset which was just gorgeous looking out on to Macau and waited until dark to see the city below us come alight, what a spectacular sight.
Our 2nd day in Hong Kong was spent at Ocean Park. A massive marine themed amusement park, we had gone mainly to see the main attraction .. The giant pandas and wow what beautiful creatures, so pleased we got to see them in a sanctuary rather than a zoo. I could have gone home happy after seeing them but being big kids we had to try out the rides and visit the aquarium of course!
After a long day we had a quick look around the ladies market before having an early night. I feel like we've only scratched the surface here and after we leave tomorrow we will definitely want to return.
Back to China in the morning and on to Shanghai.
