Sunday 21 April
Now on Ko Samui after a fantastic few days spent on Ko Phi Phi, from Jungle treks in the pouring rain to being chased by a monkey and lazing around on some of the best beaches in the world, this place had it all!
Our first accomadation was perfect, a bamboo bugalow with breathtaking views of the seas and incredible limestone cliffs, we spent a couple of nights here and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in the day and party atmosphere in the evening, I (Ash) had a go at fire limbo (pictures will explain) but was dissuaded from taking part in the burning skipping rope game! a drunken game of musical chairs also followed with lots of cheap alcohol, £4 for a bucket of vodka or rum with a mixer! dangerous stuff!
We then moved onto the opposite side of the island, trekking over the islands viewpoint and down the otherside traipsing through the Jungle, after talking about the lack of rain we had received it decided to hammer it down on our decent! not fun. What awaited us was the remote bay/beach of ran tee! a small shop, a couple of resturant/bar/ accomadation type places and a handful of people was all we had for company, we stayed in a bungalow right on the beach and had a small stretch of it to ourselves practically. We really relaxed and enjoyed our time. The morning of our departure we went on a longtail boat trip to see some of the islands more famous bays and beaches, included was Maya bay the beach made famous by the film starring Leonardo Di Caprio, it was amazing but difficult to appreciate all of its beauty beacause of the sheer volume of boats and tourists. Monkey beach was also on the trip and does what it says on the tin! a small beach full of monkeys, i got a bit close and was given a chase by one of the smaller ones! we trundled past Viking bay a small cave which is inhabited - very strang - a few more stops at some fantastic places (the pictures will show you) and we were done, back to pick up our bags and a ferry back to mainland, where we were to switch coasts and visit Ko Samui and Ko Phang nan - after relaxing for a few days the partying will begin a little now, all i preparation for the famous full mon party we are attneding on the 25th! should be fun.
Take Care all xx
