Back in Bangkok to celebrate Songkran, the celebration of the Thai's New Year. The festival begins with Thais bathing buddhas and the family elders gently with water before erupting into an all out water fight!! We got ourselves some water pistols and joined in along with thousands of other tourists! lots of fun and naturally we got absolutely soaked, the Thais come well prepared with buckets and buckets of ice cold water and hosepipes lining the side of the streets and take no prisnoers - newly arrived tourists with backpacks on seem to be their favourite target, absolute pandemonium A once in a lifetime experience for sure and one we would reccomend to anyone.

Bit out of order with the timing of this blog we caught the sleeper train after this down to the Southern Islands....a blog you may have already read!
