After a 3 1/2 hr trip on an "air-conditioned" bus we arrived at San Ignacion Mini covered in sweat. Not wanting to attempt the 10 minute walk in the 36dg heat we decided to take a taxi with our newly made friend, Adam from Stevenage.
We headed to the hostel and dumped the bags and headed straight for the pool. We had decided that we would view the Jesuit ruins that night as we had been previously told that there was a light and music exhibition which was supposed to be pretty impressive. So we went for an alright meal beforehand and headed on down.
The lights and music were a really nice backdrop to the ancient ruins, not sure in the content of the show as it passed the Jesuits off as being a friendly bunch who gently persuaded the Guarani locals into believing in their God, seem to have missed the torture part out.
On our return to the hostel that night we witnessed what seemed to be the whole town practicing their moves to a Samba beat for the upcoming Carnival - quite impressive.
Anyhow after a great nights kip we embark on the next stage of the trip - to Posadas.
