So here we are - Argentina. The border control here was a lot more stringent with car searches and questions, albeit the questions were on my thoughts of the Falklands - nervous moment had by Ben.
Puerto Iguazu is the Argentinian counterpart to the Iguazu falls. This town is a lot smaller, cleaner and seemingly full of backpackers. I thoroughly checked my bed before sleeping on it - cannot trust these soap dodgers.
So on arriving at our lovely hostel we asked for a place that would serve us some authentic meat dishes (Argentinian beef being the best in the world). The place we were guiided to looked very swanky but we thought we would treat ourselves on our first night. After asking for a "mixed grill" from the BBQ for a little variety we were soon presented with a tray of what can only be described as insides - Kidney, Tripe, Black Sausage, not even a bloody steak on there. Having never tried small intestines I was game to give them a go - there was very much a reason for having not tried them in the first 30 years of my life.
The following day we made our way for the second time to the falls, this time the Argentine side. Immediately Argentina had seemed like a much more organised place, possibly the heavy European influence. The park was great, walks all down by the water with lots of great views, quite a stark contrast to the Brazilian side. This allowed really close up views aside and above the falls. Great day with plenty of sun cream on this time. In addition there were these animals called Caoties not sure if the same as the Wiley one, but there were very wiley. They kept attacking tourists and stealing there bags off them, good fun to watch having no food ammunition for them.
The final day we met a really nice group of Aussies which made both Reet and I keen to get back there at some point in the future. We went for a really nice and not too expensive meal, was really good to chew the cud with likeminded people for one night - Ben may have met his nemesis in bad joke/pun and useless fact telling.
Anyhows now time to move on from Puerto Iguazu and head South to a small town called San Ignacio Mini where some Jesuit ruins await us.
