We have just spent the last two days in the beautiful Blue Mountains which are around two hours from Sydney via train.
During our time here we have done a lot of walking in around 30 degree heat.
Our first stop was Katoomba Falls which was around an hour walk with lots and lots of steps. We got to see the falls but they were running quite slow due to the low rainfall but it was a beautiful stop that looked out over the Jamieson Valley.
After all those steps we were in need of a sugar hit so we headed to the Blue Mountains Chocolate Factory where we had the best hot chocolate ever. We got to melt our own chocolate buttons into the hot milk over a candle it was so yummy!! Just to add to it, we also treated ourselves to a slice of chocolate mud cake which was pretty good too!
After feeling like piglets we headed off for some more walking. So next stop was HoneyMoon Lookout, from here we were able to do around an hour and half walk to the first of the three sisters. The three sisters are the postcard picture of the Blue Mountains there basically 3 rock formations. We then headed to Echo Point where we could view all 3. Here we also got treated to a lightning show which was pretty cool.
Next up were the Leura Cascades which was a nice walk (not to many steps) through the forest.
Our final stop was the Gordon Falls, we didn't see the falls but the views from this lookout were definitely the best and a nice way to finish our trip to the Blue Mountains.
Unfortunately our time here was slightly tainted as we had our food stole out of the hostel fridge by a hobo.
