Oh my gosh that next morning our legs paid for that walk up and down Adam's Peak! Down slopes and stairs are definitely the worst! Ouch!
Ella was just as we hoped, a lovely small village with beautiful views and mountains around. Our room had a great view apparently you could see 100 miles. We're more inclined to think it could have been 50 though. Ella was spent catching up on blogs, reading, doing our cook books, writing postcards and resting our aching legs.
One evening Bryn popped into town with our Aussie neighbour and brought back two girls who studied at Sheffield Hallam University! Crazily small world. Lots of happy memories of Sheffield followed as the beer flowed.
Ayurvedic complementary therapy is offered everywhere in Sri Lanka, but always a little on the steep side so we've avoided it up until here. However seeing as we've had a couple of quiet days here we decided to splash out. Bliss but some pretty weird experiences. A spicy dry sauna (which you couldn't open your eyes in because the spicy air got in your eyes), a scratchy nails head massage which was actually really lovely and a steam bed coffin thing that left both of us as dripping wet as when you get out of the bath and a facial. Nicely revitalised.
On the last evening we challenged our legs to a small climb up 'little Adam's peak' for a view of sunset with the two Sheffield Hallam girls. Down again without too much soreness.
