NEW YEARS EVE We walked from the apartment to Darlinghurst, had breakfast, well brunch at this stage, then walked to Kings Cross and down to Hyde Park for a bit of sightseeing. It was a lot of walking... We were making our way to the Opera House but the streets nearby were blocked off with "ticket only" for New Years Eve celebrations. Left Alice Springs this morning to fly to Sydney via Melbourne. Spent most of the day travelling, we didn't get to Sydney till 7pm, there was an additional one and a half hour time difference as well. Met up with Michelle and Richard at the apartments and went looking for somewhere to eat, it was pretty late.. bout 10pm. Woke at 5am, before my alarm, kinda used to these early mornings now! Got some coffee and toast and headed off at 6.30am.. Tour guide Tom will be our driver and minder for the next few of days.
