Hi All,
Hope you are all ok!
Thanks for the comments on my last blog- in response to you all-
Ali- No I do not miss you nagging and I cant believe you are still nagging me fromt he other side of the world! Even my mum isnt giving me that much hassle! lol. Anyway, let me know what Toby thinks of his first curry! Cant wait to hear from him!
Daddy- My spelling is good its just I am typing fast as I am on a time limit here and want to get as much stuff in while I have the time and while I can think of it all and dont forget it....ill do better...
As for the money side of it- I CANNOT buy anything except the essentials as it is soooo expensive here- so you can all stop worring about the money as I am being very very careful and only buying what I need (except the shoes)...
As for the Titanic exhibition, ah you would have loved it- but dont worry I knew that would be the case so I took lots of pictures and are uploading them now so you can see. I also bought the book thingy at the end to keep which I will be sending home so you can look through it...im sure it will be just like being there....
Anyway, I cant really remeber what I got up to on here but Im guessing it was the Titanic exhibition so ill start there....
It was really good how they did it actually, first I went into the IMAX cinema (which Melbourne are very proud to say is the third largest in the world) was pretty massive though- I would say about the size of a house! Its was in 3D as well so had to wear those silly glasses! It showed how they went down to the Titanic and collected things and also took some cameras down there so you could see all inside of the remains. Was facinating how some of the things down there are still so preserved- some of the windows were intact, the doors and the grand staircase. They also went into peoples rooms, where the beds and they belongings were still as they were left. Really good stuff!
After that you went into the exhibition where they had all the artifacts displayed that they have got from the wreck, all sorts of stuff. They also make the passageways to each part like parts of the ship- so there was the grand staircase, first class cabin and 3rd class cabins (wasnt supposed to but took some pictures so you could see!)
They give you a boarding pass at the beginning so you could see if any of the artifacts belonged to you and at the end you could see what happended to your character. I didnt have any belongings.....and I died. So that was fun!
Also got to look round the rest of Melbourne museum as well which was good- they had the human boday and mind (dave you would have loved this as it was all about mental heath) then they had aboriginal culture and stuff so it was all pretty interesting!
Got back to the hostel yesterday and had some dinner and we all headed downstairs for the comedy trivia night which was actually quite good (our team came 4th) and i had my FIRST few alcohol beverages of the trip! But that ended at 10pm which was a bit boring...so becuse I had my room to myself that night...I decided to have a party!! So we went to the bottle shop and got some supplies and spent the rest of the night messing around having a right giggle which you can probably see for the pictures! Did got to sleep until about 3 this morning though so feeling a little delicate today....havent actually made it out of the hostel yet!
So I have decided to just do some jobs today, so boring laundrey day, go to coles for supplies, find the post office blah blha blah...
I think tonight we are all going to find a monopoly board and get everyone on the floor involved in a game and a movie which sounds good as I need a quiet night after last night! So nothing really exciting to report today im afraid....
Bit sad actually as my friend Sian was going to have to go home cos of her travel insuranse (long story) but its good because she managed to sort it out so she can stay but she has gone to work on a farm for a few weeks. She wanted me to go with her but Im not ready to leave Melbourne just yet. I did say I might follow her next week though! Fancy a bit of farm work for a change! Problem is, yyour accomodations and food is all included but you dont get paid. So I might go there for a few week experience and then come back and look for a proper job. Plus the more farm work I get the better as you have to do three months worth of agricultural work to get you sencond year visa so I may as well get started. As you may have guessed I am already consdiering my second year visa...
However I think I willbe going to Melbourne prision and gaol tomorrow so that should be good...looking foward to that!
Oh and I guess I should look for a job?????

Big Brother Woop, first one to write a comment. Ok, so firstly im glad to hear that ur considering ur second year cos that means that u have a plan and enjoying it out there. Back home we are expecting a heat wave .. and we are currently hotter than u :p That Titanic exhibition sounds awesome actually, so we have proved that computer games are useful.. u got a head start on exploring the ship using that game we used to have. Do u remember what they told u about mental health? Did u play twister at the party? Don't know if anyone had it on them. U will be happy to know that I have been keeping mum and nan updated with ur blog and FB pictures. Have an amazing time and ill abuse ur wall again soon x
Daddy Wow you should be honoured to receive a comment from your brother....! Steffi ghas had some exams this week so she is a little out of touch at the moment and I have been working some long days again...that has really got to stop! Get yourself out to the farm, that will certainly be a memory to savour in years to come when you are like me, old and grey. That is exactly the sort of experience you are down under to enjoy. Thank you for the low-down on the Titanic thing, I am not a bit envious. Have not done much since you have been in Oz so don't hold your breathe waiting for pictures of the newly completed little room. I have been concentrating on the garden and trying to clear away the trees and generally taking it easy...I do have a date planned for ther weekend though! Stay out of trouble... Love you always. Daddy
