Day 324, 24 May 2013, Havana, Cuba. Well actually - Sea Day! Another cruise around Cuba. It must be the allure of the forbidden but we've decided (not being American and all) that one day we would quite like to visit Havana, having now sailed past twice. There was no escaping it (and thank goodness today was a sea day), because it was also PACKING DAY! The exploding backpacks had once more spread themselves everywhere. On a super positive note, we'd both managed to wear everything in our summer wardrobes at least once - the joy of being able to dress up for dinner each night was immense. Packing took a while. Napping even longer - James hit the sun deck for final roastings and I snoozed away the afternoon - both tuckered out from the week of diving. There are quiet spots to lurk on the Carnival Liberty - but it seems essentially to be 80% party boat - very fortunately we were tucked away on Deck 1 - no bars, clubs, or party pools to be found in the bowels of the ship - thus no passengers who started & finished the day boozing to traipse past. Compared to some English folks, us Australians look like teetotallers. Compared to the crowd on this boat.... the entire world looks teetotal! Final quiet dinner in the glitzy Golden Olympian room - Chateaubriand anyone? We will remember these dining experiences for a long time indeed. Tomorrow when we wake up, we'll be back in Miami. Wow. Seven nights, 8 dives, four countries. Need to fly to Las Vegas for a rest....
(Pictured is one of our dive buddies from Grand Cayman yesterday - thanks for that great shot from Ed Webb)
