Day 360, 29 June 2013, Santiago, Chile. We were sooooo tired after yesterday's 3 country jaunt (out of Uruguay, into Argie, out of Argie, into Chile, out of airport, into town to apartment) that we slept for a long, long time. And then I slept some more. James was up and at 'em and went to sort out our wifi problem. In terms of wifi, South America has been either super (once) to pathetic (mostly) to non-existent (now). Not as bad as Africa. Just. In any event - we're off to hunt some breakfast, visit Plaza de Armas, the main square and explore our condominium blocks - rumour has it there's a heated pool and a laundry - woo. Later on... Had a great stroll. Managed to order breakfast at a hole-in-the-wall cafe and enjoyed looking at the art market in Plaza de Armas. The highlight of the day was stocking up on food & booze at our supermarket just downstairs. Home cooking for lunch was superb. We are planning out our next few days and finally discovered the cause of our wifi woes - the last tenants or the maid accidentally unplugged the unit which was hidden in the one spot we hadn't looked. And now we have excellent wifi. Walking tour and a craft market tomorrow, day trip to Val Paraiso and a winery on Monday and Tuesday? Who knows? The flight to Sydney doesn't leave until midnight so the day is full of possibilities. Today's photo shows the snow covered mountains we can see from our apartment windows - surprisingly not as cold here as you'd expect with all that snow!
