Alreet???
We have finally arrived in Ko Phangan, and we love it, its soo chilled out and different from what we are use to.
We got the sleeper train down here form Bangkok, which was a new one. Surprisingly the train was very comfortable, but the food was a bit rank like. We got off a Surat Thani and got a bus to the docks to get our ferry. The Ferry was fun for about ten minutes, then we wanted off, the driver was on a full scale go slow like, seemed to take ages. We FINALLY got here and got a taxi to our Bungalows, i think we got a bit of a shock when we got here like, there is very little here apart from beach huts and a sort of social area, but we are only 20 minutes walk from Thong sala. We have our own bit of beach, which Rik has taken full advantage of, walking around like a milk bottle, but the views from our patio are absolutely amazing. We wnt for a walk into Thongsala for a drink that night, on the way we ran into a angry looking Buffalo/cow looking thing, and when it turned towards us i was sprinting down the road and Rik was in the process of diving into a bush, then we realised it was tied to a tree. We had a few drinks in the town and headed back the Cookies, where we got a few beers and sat on the patio, with Gilbert, a lizard who seems to just stay at our hut, before retiring to our Bungalow, Mortal.
We got up rarther early the next day, and Rik proceeded to Sunbathe and see how far out at sea he could get, while i read a book on the patio (no one was being loud). We went and had some food when we heard the Thunder, so we did what was best got as many bottles of beer as we could carry and sat on the patio in the rain. When the storm passed we just sat on the patio some more and kept the drinking. We were later Joined by the two pet cats of the resort, who we named Nobby and Shearer.
The next few days were pritty similar, we just lay about on the beach, reading books and drinking a fair bit. We met a guy called Andre from Brazil, who stayed at Cookies for a night he was canny cool, and only to happy to join us in a few beers. We went to the Masions arms on the Monday for some good English food, i think there is a picture of it in our Album, a very weird looking building compared to it Thai Backdrop. I had a cracking Monday dinner (just like someone's mother used to make). We went to Haad Rin two days before the Full Moon Party, just to see how the lands lies. Got very drunk to be fair, but the beach seemed cool, all the bars are just streched along the beach front.
Haad Rin was alot different on the actual Full Moon Party night to be fair like. Before this whole paragraph am just gonna type Sorry Mam's.
We went down quite early to get some foor and have a few beers before the Party really Kicked off, but when we got to the beach it looked like it already had. So we grabbed a few beers, it was class people where actually shouting at you trying to sell you cheap beer, Heaven or what. BLANK.
Nah, we carried on having alot to drink, deciding to go on larger bottles, then buckets, then larger buckets. It was Carnage. When we were safely Sozeled (Fettes) we got all painted up with Luminous paint (i walked round with Superman painted on my chest most of the night), Rik was sick in the sea, i fell in the sea. There were the scaffolds, with the fire writng on them, and two stupid sods decided to climb to the top, yeah it was us. Then we just walked around the beach talking to people we had met. I went to the bank and got cornered by two Thai lasses/lads, who followed us back the the beach. So we told them we were going home, well that just made them think they were coming too, so we got in a taxi with them, actually paid the driver, and just as he puled away (it was moving) Jumped out the back and legged it back to the beach, i bet they were not happy. Then we lost each other, so i just continued to rave it up with Random people, and a few guys from Wigan we met in Bangkok. As the sun came up, the whole beach seemed to go in the sea, me included, so after that i decided to call in a morning (it was 8.45). The Taxi back was possibly the best part of the night, A dutch guy with matching shoes and shirt, a German, a Canadian who loved Brian Adams, two young Irish girls, an Irish couple, a Cockney guy and me. Singing alot of Queen songs on the way back, Hilarious. I got back to find Rik asleep in a hamok on the beach, then we retired to our Bungalow, Done In.
The next day/night we we really tired, so we pritty much got up, got some food and went back to bed.
So we are leaving today, ,ixed emotions to be honest, have had a great week but we need to move on like. we leave at 12.30 today and dont get to Chiang Mai until 8.30 tommorrow night, too long a journey. Photos will get uploaded as soona s i can find a decent computers. And i have see the Kos Photos, glad you guys had a good time. I am doing my best to Keep Thailand Spackertastic.
