Today we explored San Antonio, we had a look around the Alamo which was originally used as a military based and named after one of the military groups. It was later used as a hospital, a general store and again as a military base. It was almost knocked down but 2 sisters bought it who were later reinstated by the local council after they realised that it was a heritage site.
Following this, we walked around San Antonio ending up in a shopping centre to get away from the heat!
That evening we went to a funny little campsite in Luckenbach. It was Jacobs birthday so we had a birthday dinner and cake and then walked into Luckenbach centre...this was such a funny place and just how I imagined a Texas village to be. It had the simplest pub (all bottles no pumps)/general store, a stage, a cowboy hut, toilets (no doors, only curtains) and a village dancing hall which we all ended up in watching and joining in with the locals dancing. We witnessed a dance off between a young boy, and an older man thinking that he was still a young boy! It was such a good experience!
