This morning we drove to the Carlsbad Caverns which were so cool to see. The scenery on the drive to the caves was incredible, it was so different to the rest of America, quite baron, and desert looking. We had a 1 mile walk to get to the bottom of the caves, going through the bar cave, the twilight cave (where bloody raccoons live, needless to say I swiftly moved out of that cave!). A lady who worked at the caves described the largest cave as being similar to a cathedral. She wasn't wrong, it was beautiful and so so peaceful, there was no noise what so ever!
After another drive we went to the town of Roswell which apparently is famous for it's aliens! I personally think that aliens are a load of rubbish, but one girl on our tour who has not shown much enthusiasm for anything along the way, tending to be fairly quiet, really got excited over being at the town of Roswell. Whatever floats her boat :/ we swiftly left this place as no one else was really into aliens! We got into Sante Fe, set up camp and then headed into the centre. This was another surprise. The building and architecture made it feel as though we were in Mexico, all building were a sand colour and looked as though they had been made from clay. We went for dinner at a restaurant which had a live band, this was a funny band. They had good music but there lyrics were so offensive! My mum would have hated it!
Today (9.09.13) we are heading to the Grand Canyon which I am so excited about!
