So i just left Noosa but i absolutely loved it there - so chilled out and great atmosphere. Only one problem was that it was just a lil bit too hot and i mean sweating like a dead pig on a spit kinda heat now i know you're probably thinking that lucky cow has great heat while we are stuck in the UK freezing our arses off but still it was just lil too much. Anyway, in noosa i had my first and second surf lesson - yay so now im an amazing pro surfer - well not exactly!! I did manage to stand up on my first lesson which is the same for pretty much everyone that tries but i also did manage some rather elegant and spectacular nose dives from the board with my arse in the air - que elegante!! But i had fun which was the main thing and obviously with practice im sure i can improve well i hope i can! So me and vicky plan to hire some boards in byron and just do some serious practice - my main problem is not having enough power when i paddle to catch the wave which is strange as im q a strong swimmer. So apart from the surfing we went to the Australian Zoo - the one that Steve Irwin owns - unfortunately we didnt get to see steve unless you count a giant cardboard cut out of him but we did see some amazing animals which was fun. To make this entry a lil bit more exciting i would like to say that a giant crocodile jumped out of its cage and proceeded to chase us down the path until we reached the wombat enclosure where camilla (the crocodile - obviously no conection to our possible future queen) ate the entire family - but that would be lying as for one croc's cant run but that would've been cool! So that night me, rianna and kerry (an aussie from my dorm) went to the bar where we entered a pool comp - now those of you who are aware of pool skills mainly Emma are probably thinkin right now what the hell was i thinkin of entering a pool comp when it takes me about 1hr just to get the ball, in right position - well in this game each played takes a turn to try and pot any ball and if he or she does so they get a free beer (now u see the incentive behind this!) We got two tries and if no pool was potted you're out. So my first go came and i was just happy that i managed to hit the ball so i didnt look too muich like a fool (for once) but the second go we had to have one leg on the table and hit it with the opposite end of the cue - great night for me to be wearing a skirt!! So that go came and went without free beer so i drowned my sorrow in bottles of strongbow - yes i am a classy lady. We spent the rest of the night dancing crazily to old school hits you would find in the union so i was in my element!! Also, i t was alexis bday ( a guy the otehrs met from the oz bus) and he was v v v drunk but anyway he is from Fareham and was surprised when i said i knew exactly where it was and had been there many times but then he said i was a loser for going to Havant College!!! One night in Noosa we went to see the latest Harry Potter film - finally - it was good especially since us three managed to polish off a giant tub of popcorn before it was even half way thru! But they missed loads of stuff from the book so a lil disappointed there! So all in all Noosa was great - met q a few people - some blokes from newport who actaully looked welsh - dont know how but they just did!! And there were some fantastic rain stormswith thunder and lightening in the evenings due to the intense heat during the day so they were great fun to look at. Well ive just arrived in Brisbane so i cant write anything about that yet as only just got here so ill leave that for next time. love to all nikki xx
