Early(ish) start to see grand palace, but when we arrived found out it was for Thai Buddhists only in the morning, so wandered for an hour or two. Incredibly hot day with sun out, back in hotel for a cool down dip. Had a nice lie in, then packed up and moved hotel, finding many of them full. We're still paying too much, but there are perks (rooftop swimming pool!). Took the boat bus to grand palace, but stupidly was wearing shorts and sleeveless tops, so will go back tomorrow in the appropriate attire! Ate pad thai #2, was delicious :-) Went to the giant Buddha, and into travel agency (tuktuk drivers insistence) talked potential plans for next month, but not doing it through the agency because I hate the hard sell, and committing would mean a loss of independence. But gave lots of good ideas for the next month.
