Woke up at 4:30 again, but this time I'd organised a tuktuk, so we got taken to AW this time!! And I must confess I hadn't really been looking forward to the sunrise thing. And it lived up to that expectation!!
Crowded (but not really a problem, just as expected), kinda cloudy, and I was tired. So watched the 'sunrise' - more just the day getting brighter! Then wandered around anchor wat itself, I was underwhelmed it must be said, partly because I was so tired, but I thought it just wasn't as amazing as people build it up to be.
Left there and was taken to other way more impressive temples in the same area, my favourite had huge stone faces built into its towers, but also had billions of Chinese tourists! Finished with the tomb raider one, which was cool as well, but but this point interest begins to drop!
In all very glad to have seen them, but I don't think Anchor Wat was the most impressive of those temples by any stretch, and of course very busy.
I think leaving at 7am would've been much better, the sunrise wasn't great due to cloud, and it gets too hot later in the day (the extra sleep would've helped keep interest up as well I think).
Got back to the hostel at 11ish and went back to bed until about 4, sophie wasn't feeling very well either.
Still knackered for the rest of the day, so had a slow one, had some food then went into town so Sophie could report loosing her camera, realised she'd forgotten the code or whatever, so went back to the hostel, then back to town, wandered for 30 mins looking for a police station, being re-directed all around town (gotta admit I was fairly bored by this time) eventually asked a tuktuk driver who told us the police stations shut at 5pm anyway (this was at 9ish).
So we went to explore the night markets, sophie wanted a massage but I wasn't interested so suggested meeting at the hostel later (5 min tuktuk ride).
