Woke up at 10:30, kinda s***ty hostel, but beds were large and comfy, so all good. Got ready and sorted ourselves out had some breakfast (ham an cheese sandwich for me) and headed out for the day, leaving the bags in the hostel.
Walked to the central market, a huge permanent building and wandered around for a bit, sophie was looking for another bag, andI ended up getting a t-shirt and another pair of sunglasses (I now have 3!) because sophie convinced me they'd be better for the motorbikes, but they are kinda cool, and very cheap so not too bothered!
Got bored of the market after exploring for quite a while, an couldn't find the one thing I really want (some poi), but I know they sell them on khao San road an we will be back there in a few days. We headed back to happy pizza for lunch (I couldn't resist). And we chilled for the rest of the day, feeling pretty knackered after the day and evening before. Wandered through town and ended up back at the rooftop terrace, had a very nice strawberry shake and a burger, expensive, but tasty :-D
Sophie decided she did want one of the bags she'd seen earlier, so we got a tuktuk back to the central market, but it was shut by now (20:30). So went back and grebes our bags and sorted ourselves for the bus. Got to the bus station very early (21:30 an our bus wasn't till 23:00) but we have just run out of things to do in Phnom Penh.
Chilled on a table near the waterfront until our bus time.
Not done too much today, but it's been nice to have a chill out day :-)
Looking forward to siem reap, as apparently it's got way more backpackers and is much more lively, we have booked ourselves into a nice looking hostel with a pool, so looking forward to having a dip.
Different night bus to those in Vietnam, they were individual seats, while these were two next to each other, still fully reclined though so all good. I had bad luck with a lower section of roof over my head, but wast too bothered, just crashed hard over the 7hours (I LOVE night busses) I don't understand why we don't have em in England, it'd be by far the best way to get north-south!
