Woke up in the capsule in ho chi Minh. Thought I'd lost my key :-( but luckily Katie found it on the floor (drunk me is an idiot!). Gt up and went for breakfast with soph, Tess and Katie. Bought pizzas for the bus to Phnom Penh (didn't have enough time on our visas to do the boat, but still planning to boat pp to siem reap.). Sophie went back to pack while I hunted a pharmacy down for some painkillers for sophie as her ear is still bad after the mud spa 3(?) days ago. Got on the bus to pp at 1ish, and goodbye to Vietnam, very sad, but I will definitely be back, no doubt. Want to buy bikes and ride south north then sell em on, perhaps for a month or longer :-D
Very nice bus with good reclining seats (although not as good as the night bus). Easy boarder crossing $35, get out to leave Vietnam, get back on for 100 metres then back off to enter Cambodia.
Arrived in Phnom Penh at 8ish and had a bit of an argument with sophie, we disagree on the course of action entering a new city, I like getting dropped in the backpacker area and finding a hostel, she likes to pre book, so of course we ended up pre booking!! Got to the hostel, was actually very nice, softest beds anywhere so far, but a bit posh for my taste and slightly older and less partyish clientele. But ok as soph's ear is still bad from the spa day, and the last 3 nights (nha trang and Saigon - not including night bus) have been heavy, so I'm ok to have a slightly more chilled one tonight.
Went to a hospital so soph could sort out her ear, hopefully it'll start getting better as its quite a major problem for both of us at the minute, even doped her up on some codeine on the bus and that didn't seem to help much.
Got it sorted (big clog of mud by her ear drum) thankfully, and headed back to the hostel, in bed by 1:30, nicely sober as well!
