Today we had an early arrival at Patamos island, it lies close to Turkey in the Aegean sea. It has a monastery of st john that overlooks the town, it date back to the 12 th century. We didn't walk up to see that, we just wandered along, had a look at the beach. It was nice to have a rest. Today was a big one, we fitted in so much am so tired it's not funny! First of we visited the blue mosque. It is the only mosque with 6 tall towers around it, all the rest have only 4. When we arrived we had to take our shoes of, the carpet was red with lines of darker red flowers all in a row, that is to help the men when they preyed. Got up early today to see the memorial of Gallipoli (world war 1) as we sailed through the Dardanelles we nearly missed it as we had fallen back to sleep went back to sleep. Didn't get very good pictures of it though, will try again on way home even though it will be during the night. It was still touching to see it.
