Today we decided to ‘do Sydney’. We were considering staying in Manly a while as it was so nice but today we wanted to drive to the Opera house over the Harbour Bridge. The Opera house was very impressive and we had a long walk around it taking lots of photographs of it and ourselves next to it. The bridge was pretty impressive too, but we didn’t take so many photos of that, we have bridges back home. After the walk we went back to the van to consider our options. Basically it was still cold. It wasn’t beach weather and in fact there had been drizzle at some points most days so we decided we couldn’t afford to go out in Sydney anyway and decided to head on up the coast. As we drove into New South Wales we had noticed odd tubes of rope going over the roads. I guess they were for some kind of tree dwelling animal to cross the roads by, I wonder if they actually use them...
We opted for a rest stop camp tonight as we had been doing residential areas recently and wanted to have one with a loo and place to cook right on site, we stopped at the one just before the town of Taree. It was fine except in the middle of the night two big trucks decided to share the stop with us and woke us up with their huge engines. We have done 1630 kilometres so far and yet again when we stopped for the evening it was raining, hopefully if we get to Queensland it will be sunny weather again.
