I was excited to see Gustavo and Liliana again. They were so affectionate and welcoming, when I was with them in Copacabana, Bolivia, and when I spoke to them on the phone, they recognized me right away and were so glad that I called. Gustavo was right on time ar 11am, and he took me around the city a bit showing me different areas that are usually undiscovered to tourists.
Gustavo lived about 20 minutes out of the city in the suburbs. Liliana and him are middle-upper class people that have a very modest, but warm home. They have three kids, with the first two married (a boy and a girl), and the youngest is my age. We sat outside while Gustavo but the meat on the grill and let it cook very slowly. After a while, his youngest son came and sar with us. We talked mostly about world politics and the involvement of the United States in the development of various South American countries.
As we sat down for lunch, I gave them a bottle of wine that I had bought for them in Mendoza. It was one of my favorite wines that I tried from am italian-owned bodega. Their daughter came with her husband, whom spoke a little English. During lunch, we talked about the differences between canadians and americans as well as the political situation in Argentina. We talked until about 5pm. I really felt like I was amongst family.
Afterwards, their daughter and her husband offered to drive me back downtown where I had to meet Ines. I truly believe that the friendship that I have made through these wonderful people will be a long one.
I met Ines at around 6pm (she was late again, but again I expected that). We took a train to this place called Tigre. Tigre is a shopper's dream place where you can buy anything and everything at a cheaper price. We went around for about 2 hours, and then took the train back. Ines got off at a stop before mine to go home, so I thanked her for spending her time to show me around.
Once I got back to the hostel, I went to a tenedor libre closeby, and planned by day for tomorrow. It was going to be my last day tomorrow so I had to pack in as many things as possible. I got back to the hostel with a full belly and which made me pass out in my bed instintaneously.
