Hello everybody. We finally have a camera again so we have decided to update the blog.
Arrived at Koh Tao to the hotest day so far, it must of been about 35 degrees but it was paradise.
After spending 2 days back in Bangkok and getting used to paying 5 quid for a meal and beer instead of 2 which we were in Vietnam we booked our bus and boat ticket to Koh Toa. Whilst we were buying the ticket we were talked into buying a scuba diving course for a bargain deal of 8000 Baht 180 quid each including travel and accommodation. We thought this was a bit dodge but thought we would do it anyway.
When we arrived it was so hot. We got to our resort which had beach side bungalows and private boats for the diving. The bungalows were real nice on the outside but poo on the inside. I mean it looked like poo had been smeared on the walls but it didnt matter.
The weather took a turn for the worst and when we woke the following day it was absolutely pissing it down. The locals said we were gonna have a Thyphoon tonight. Nic got excited thinking we were all gonna have a decent cup of tea but all i could think about was our poo stained bungalow getting swallowed by the sea.
We survived the night and after all the classroom and swimming pool stuff the first day or so we finally got into the sea. It was brilliant, Only 18 metres but so many fish and Nic actually looked skinny at that depth.
After our 1st course we decided to stay on for a few more days to do an advanced diving course....check us out. This included a night dive. Nic was pooing her pants. The night finally came and we were on the edge of the boat looking into the black water. You really couldnt see anything. Anyway we dived in and then went down. We all had a little torch each and you seriously couldnt see anything except a metre or 2 where the torch lite up. Once we got down to the bottom my torch decided not to work and at the best of times it kept flickering. All i could see was other light in the distance and every once and a while my torch came on only for me to be confronted by fish with teeth looking at their reflection in my scuba mask. The amount of times my bowles moved that night the people still on the boat must of thought the water was boiling over.
Anyway after 40 mins or so we came back to the surfice. Nic absolutely loved it and hasnt stopped talking about it since. She said she loved it more than Charlton and thats the truth. Although Charlton are rubbish Nic for whatever reason really does think alot of them. It wasnt better than chocolate tho so Daddy Stevens thats where your daughter puts Charlton on her list of things.
Anyway We left Koh Tao for Krabi.
