G'day g'day.... how you going?
So, the adventure holiday has started! I left you last at Rainbow beach/fraser island I believe... Well last Friday my nan's sister came and picked me up, and we went back to their town of Maryborough and I managed to wash my clothes (yes mum, wash!) and we all went out for a huge family meal (I could NOT get everyones names, however, I did learn! Beryl, Alan, Irene, Rej, Karen and the kids Daniel, Michaela, Hayley and Jamie (see, I learnt!) They all live on the same plot of land, so it was very family based! We had some great outings and bbqed some steak (yum!) We went down to Hervey bay and I managed to go out sailing with my 'uncle' Roy on his boat, the most incredible experience! We sailed across to Fraser island and back, losing a hat in the process, blooming wind!
From there we (travelling again with Robb and Ryan... I'm sure there are jokes about an english man a scotsman and a welsh man?) went up to a small bland little (slightly boring town) of 1770. However, they do have something called 'Scooterooing' there! Basically, you get a bunch of 50 backpackers, all rent out a miniture harley davidson each, and go explore the country! Incredible experience. (Mum, I want a motorbike!) We managed to do about 80ks and see some great countryside, running into the odd skippy along the way!
From there we went to a cattle ranch station and herded goats with horses. However, mine was a grumpy little horse and decided to not listen to me, and while all the other horses were herding the goats, mine was in the opposite field, eating whatever it found and completely ignoring me. I didn't mind, herding goats is overrated anyway. (Mum, I don't want a horse).
We also tried lassooing (spelling?!) and herded some goats and put 11000 volts through our bodies, not the nicest feeling in the world, but it passes the time.
We've now rocked up to Airlie beach (just a small 12hour bus journey) we've found playing buckeroo on sleeping people is a great way to pass the time. We managed to get a book on someones head before they bucked. Tired, tired backpackers. Just awaiting our boat to go out on the Whit sundays on for the weekend, hopefully snorkelling and having a swim with the box jellyfish and the blue ringed octopus. They are only deadly so that shouldn't be a problem. Don't worry mum, I'll be nice to them!
Just a week till we get up to Cairns now, and then I fly back down to Maryborough on the 1st December for more family fun, sailing and motorbiking!
I hope the UK isn't too unbareable and cold. We've made it to the tropics now and it's humid and mid 30s. However, a small air conditioned cafe and jungle speed passes the time!
I hope life is well, the fireworks were great and keep the messages coming!
Until next time...
The 'biker dude' Nick x
