Noosa
Noosa is a very exclusive beach town, where Ben and Hailey are getting married in January. We were there for 4 nights of luxury and relaxation. Stayed in a brilliant double apartment and made very good use of the heated pool, jacuzi, Dan Murphy's and BBQ (check out the photo of N 'sticking another shrimp on the barbie' - tick that off the list!)
Noosa Heads is part of a lovely National Park, so we spent a couple of days walking through the forest and around the coastal path, and managed to find some idilic secluded cove beaches to relax on. Despite a lot of effort, Z didn't manage to spot a Koala or Whale (yet...) We also did an evening kayak along the Noosa river, which was really good fun. (Good teamwork paddling with hardly any arguments.) We saw a load of Mullet fish jumping about 3 feet out of the water, lots of multi-million $ homes on the river front, but the highlight was the sunset we saw as we paddled back towards our apartment. Amazing views.
The seafood here is fantastic and most evenings we had BBQ and Beers. However, one evening the four of us decided to splash out on an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet at one of the nice restaurants in town. Predictably, it all got a bit silly, with Ben OD-ing on Salmon, Hailey almost turning into a prawn and Nick having a few too many helpings of bread and butter pudding, and we ended up waddling home in a lot of pain. We also made it to Eumandi for the famous market. Big market with lots of arts n crafts, food, clothes etc. Zoe and Hails were in heaven! Picked up a couple of Australian souvenirs that will remind us of our fantastic time here when we get back to the UK.
Really loved Noosa and it was a pretty nice way to start our 3-week holiday. Ben and Hailey kindly dropped us off in Brisbane on there way to Sydney so we could pick up our campervan... Suddenly realised that the next 2 ½ weeks accommodation in the back of the van might not be as luxurious as our 4 days in Noosa! Quick look around Brisbane before picking up supplies and heading off with just the two of us for the road trip of a lifetime...
