Daintree
Once back from our diving we spent the evening driving up to the Daintree. You have to cross the Daintree river by car ferry to get there. It is thick rainforest with some amazing wildlife including Cassowaries (huge scary birds, bit like emus), Tree frogs and Crocodiles. The rainforest goes all the way down to the beach which is very rare apparently. Unfortunately, it rained and rained (Not good in a campervan) but we still really loved it and it was probably one of our fav places. We drove up to Cape Tribulation, so called because Captain Cook's boat had got stuck on a reef here. The sun came out and we had the beach all to ourselves. A special moment as we realised we had driven almost the entire length of Australia!!
We spent the rest of our day walking on the many board walks through the rainforest before heading back down to Cairns for the last night of our trip.
