Got a lye in today - yay! Didn't get up until 0830 had some porridge and then quickly went online to sort out a hostel for Queenstown and book in Nick's tattoo appointement for Kaikoura.

First stop today was to the Paua Shell factory where we saw how they remove the limestone to get the beautiful shell below and how they can create the necklaces etc.

Our driver stopped at a rather popular sign on our way, the sign says, "McCrackens Rest" & yes Nick did get his crack out and sat on the sign! We then went to a farm, some people paid to do a tour but we chose not to and instead fed a donkey in the yard.

We then went for some lunch before driving the rest of the way to Te Anau, with a few stops at viewpoints on the way. We checked into our hostel, Te Anau Backpackers. We are in a dorm with all boys!! I'm the only girl in the 8 bed dorm!!!! We went for a walk and stopped at a supermarket before coming back to the hostel to cook dinner. Having an earlyish night as a busy day at Milford Sound tomorrow!
