We have now crossed the boarder of all states and territories of mainland Australia, we will conquer Tassie with our awesome friends Fiona, Dion and Jack in the new year.... But for now we could possibly say we have travelled Australia!
Leaving ceduna SA on Thursday our plan was to make it somewhere between port Augusta and renmark. As the day was getting away from us and another time change we pulled into a little caravan park in the small town of Gladstone SA. We planned on getting away early fri morning so thought we would check out the price of their onside accom... It was $40 for a caravan so we thought why not considering the average price for a powered site around aus has been $35 and we have even pain $45 up in broome!
The van we stayed in was one of those old vans that u don't see being towed any more it was like living 30yrs ago little double bed, bunk, small kitchen, and the corner lounge that converts to a bed! Was just what we needed! The caravan park had an awesome camp kitchen with everything u could have possibly needed. It had a kids playground down the back and the amenities were sparkling! Worst thing were the nozzles but hey a but of spray sorted that out!
On fri we were on the road by 0715 and on our way to mildura. We got into the town in time for lunch, a spot of shopping and a general look around! During this stop we decided to take our camping to the next level and buy a small TV... An essential item with the top 10 shoot out for Bathurst 1000 today and the race on tomorrow... Good thing paddy likes the V8's hey!
So we sat up last night to the TV which was a nice change but I must say I'm so glad we haven't had it the whole trip!
This morning just on the other side of mildura we crossed the very healthy looking Murray river which crossing that also ment crossing the boarder into our own state of NSW.... It really does kind of bring our trip towards the end but we will certainly make the most of the rest of the time we have! So Griffith today through to Monday morning where we will head to my second place We call home Dubbo, also paddy's birthplace! So bring on the catch ups for the next few weeks!
