After about a three day journey we finally crossed the border into Nepal about 2 weeks ago and headed to Kathmandu. It soon became clear that travelling to Tibet was not going to be an option so we booked to do an 16 day trek to Everest Base Camp. We hung around Kathmandu for a couple of days, chilling out and checking out the city before heading to Pokhara, where we have been for the past ten days. Since we've been here we've managed to do a few treks, row some boats and get involved in the town paint fight for one of the Holy days - pictures are following. We've just got back from a three day white water rafting trip, which is one of the best ways we've ever celebrated Easter. We set off along the Kali Gandaki river with a group of 40 people and had an amazing time despite Caroline being struck down with illness on the first day. We met up with a great group of people and went out for a few drinks with them last night. We are currently suffering with our first hangover for a month and not loving it.
We are heading back to Kathmandu tomorrow to get ourselves ready for the Everest trip, which we leave for on the 29th March. Photos are going to be a bit slower from now on as I had a disaster with my memory card in an infected computer so we are going to have to do them in big batches when I get them burnt onto CD but will try to get some more on in the next week.
